Open Fiber / promoter

Annual meeting

Open Fiber was created to build an FTTH (Fibre To The Home) ultra-broadband (BUL) fibre optic network infrastructure in all Italian regions. To realise this project, the company chose the “wholesaleonly” business model so as to guarantee free access to all interested operators on equal terms, providing end users with a wide choice. Open Fiber’s mission pursues the goals set by the European Digital Agenda, the Italian Ultra Broadband Strategy, and the Gigabit Society, a plan to establish minimum levels of connectivity in all European countries for citizens, institutions, and companies. As an infrastructure player, Open Fiber is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of the fibre optic network using FTTH technology, with very high levels of efficiency and reliability. The ambition is to change the lives of citizens thanks to the new fibre-optic technology: from small villages to large metropolitan cities, Open Fiber aims to improve the lifestyle of people, families, businesses, and workers by overcoming the digital divide.
