The rapid evolution of today’s geopolitical scenarios has pushed the European Union to accelerate its defence integration path. The EU Commission and Member States are building a common path designed to increase military capabilities to respond to new physical and cyber threats. The decision is to invest EUR 800 billion to create aggregation, both in production and procurement, according to the guidelines of the Defence White Paper. All this with a view to rebalancing the weight of the EU within NATO, in response to dreaded threats of abandonment by the US ally.
The 2025 edition of Connact Defence&Security will delve into the political as well as the more operational aspects of this path. The event will be structured to consist of three dialogue sessions. The first will focus on the political and military dimension. The second will be an in-depth look at the role of European industry. The third will focus on the more operational aspects of how to foster investment to strengthen industrial cooperation and increase European military capabilities.
